I. UX Design Principles:
a. Empathize: to understand the pain points.
b. Ideate: to brainstorm possible solution scenarios.
c. Design: to design according to specific user needs.
d. Prototype: to develop a satisficing prototype.
e. Testing: to employ usability syudies towards a final
design product.

II. HCDI Principles:
a. Organizational Design and Management:
According to Organizational Behaviour (Bobbins, Judge, & Campbell, 2012), the six key elements to an org structure are:
-
Work specialization.
-
Departmentalization.
-
Chain of command.
-
Span of control.
-
Centralization.
-
Formalization.
b. Industrial Design:
According to Cambridge Design Technology, the main principles of effective industrial design include functionality, aesthetics, simplicity, and innovation.
-
Aesthetics.
-
Functionality.
-
Innovation.
-
Simplicity.
Designers must ensure the product fulfils its purpose efficiently, incorporate pleasing visual elements, promote ease of use, and embrace innovation to push boundaries and deliver enhanced user experiences.
c. Usability Engineering:
According to Jakob Nielsen – the man often called “the king of usability” – the main components of usability are: learnability, efficiency, memorability, handling errors, and satisfaction (Aug 4, 2017).
d. Creative Design Thinking:
Understand by asking people; Explore by finding patterns; Prototype by making tangible; Evaluate by always iterating (Anonymous, n.d.).
e. Life Critical Systems:
The most important emergent property of a critical system is its dependability. In 1995, Laprie proposed the term dependability.
It covers the interrelated/interconnecting system(s) characteristics as referred to as availability, reliability, safety and security.
f. Cognitive Engineering:
The cognitive systems engineering (CSE) design approach focuses on supporting humans in managing cognitive complexity in sociotechnical systems. Cognitive complexity includes communication, decision-making, problem solving, and planning.
